Information and Special Offers

2018 Chevrolet
Volt
MODEL OVERVIEW

Drive the best of both worlds

The 2018 Volt offers up to 53 pure electric miles† and up to 420 miles† with a full charge and a full tank of gas. This gives you the peace of mind to go as far as you want. Plus, the athletic design, impressive performance and intelligent driving technology make for a superb driving experience.

Brain power

Combining smarts with power, Volt goes from 0 to 60 in 8.4 seconds†. Give credit to its 1.5L direct injected high-efficiency engine and two electric motors. It runs on an electric charge and generates additional energy through a gas-powered generator when the battery runs out —giving you the confidence to go as far as you want. It's elegant, electric power that's unstoppable.

Up to 53-mile† battery range

The average daily commute is only about 40 miles round trip. That means Volt offers enough battery range to make it from home to work, with range to spare for errands in between.

Up to 420 miles† of total range with a full charge

Not sure if 53 miles is enough for your daily commute? Volt has a backup plan. If you go over 53 miles, Volt intuitively and seamlessly switches over to use gas as energy to extend your range, giving you the peace of mind to go hundreds of miles further.

1,100 miles† between fill-ups

Chevy expects owners will drive over 1,100 miles† between fill-ups by charging regularly. This means weekly stops at the gas station could be a thing of the past, giving you the confidence to go as far as you want.

REGEN ON DEMAND

With a simple pull of the paddle on your steering wheel, you're able to slow down without using the actual brake pedal. This helps convert energy into more electricity and then transfers it back to the battery†. Of course, you should still use the brake pedal if you need to stop immediately.

ENERGY SCREENS

Want to know where you're using the most energy or how much charge you have left in the battery? All of that valuable real-time information is housed on the color touch-screen and Driver Information Center behind the steering wheel.

Two charging options

Volt can be recharged using the included 120-volt portable cord or the available 240-volt charging unit. The 240-volt charging unit is recommended for at-home charging convenience.

240-VOLT CHARGING

The available 240-volt charging unit can be professionally installed to fully recharge the battery in about 4.5 hours†. There is also an included 120-volt portable charge cord† that will charge the battery in approximately 13 hours.

LOCATION-BASED CHARGING

Based on GPS data, a programmable "home" setting for charging allows you to take advantage of off-peak electricity rates when you're plugged in at home. This setting will also allow Volt to immediately charge when plugging in away from home.

Pretty smart

Volt looks like nothing else out there. From the subtle curves to the wonderfully wide stance, everything is deliberately crafted.

The freedom teens want, the added peace of mind parents need

The 2018 Volt offers Teen Driver technology, a built-in system to help encourage safe driving habits and let parents know how their teenager drove the vehicle. The system can enable a host of features including:

  • Mutes audio system when front seat occupants aren't wearing their safety belts
  • Gives audible and visual warnings when the vehicle is traveling over predetermined speeds
  • Sets a limit on music volume
  • Informs parents when available safety features like Forward Collision Alert or Lane Departure Warning are triggered

Advanced safety features that help guide and protect

With its innovative safety systems and advanced response technology, Volt was designed to help protect you before, during and after a possible collision.

PROTECT

Volt features 10 air bags† and smart sensors designed to adjust frontal air bag inflation according to the severity of a crash.

RESPOND

When the air bags deploy† built-in sensors can automatically alert OnStar® and a readily available advisor will connect to your vehicle to provide assistance. Even if you don't respond, an OnStar® Advisor can use GPS technology to pinpoint your exact location and request that emergency help is sent right away.†
