Expedition MAX
The new 2018 Expedition MAX is for people who want to go bigger and have more to carry on their way. That's why we've added extra room in all the right places. At nearly a foot longer than the Expedition, the Expedition MAX can accommodate an additional 16.9 cu. ft. of cargo for your next adventure. And there's ample head- and leg room in the last row. So everyone can feel like they're living large.
Platinum
The Platinum model sets the highest standards for Expedition style, convenience and comfort. Enjoy leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front bucket seats, PowerFold 3rd-row seat, power-deployable running boards, panoramic Vista Roof , B&O Play Premium Audio System by Harman, enhanced active noise control, BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert, voice-activated Navigation System with SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link, SYNC® 3 Enhanced Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System. Seating Flexibility
All Expedition passengers can customize their riding comfort, thanks to three rows of flexible seating. Available second-row tip-and-slide seats enhance access to the second row and allow you to leave a child safety seat secured in the process. Third-row power reclining seats make even long trips relaxing for rear passengers.
Panoramic Vista Roof
The available panoramic Vista Roof features two panels over the first and second rows. The front panel opens for an open air driving experience.

Interior
Sit back and relax. Comfort-enhancing features abound in 2018 Expedition, like available leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front bucket seats that help relieve leg and lower back fatigue during long drives. Woodgrain appliqué accents on the center console and media bin door plus a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel add to the premium experience.
Quiet cabin
Hear every last word - or just enjoy the silence. The 2018 Expedition interior features enhanced active noise control that works like noise-cancelling headphones. It emits sound waves that cancel out unwanted sounds in the cabin such as engine, transmission and wind.
Advanced Cargo Management System
2018 Expedition offers the available advanced Cargo Management System to help you stow your essentials securely in their place. An adjustable shelf behind the third row lets you create a storage space customized to whatever you're hauling. There's also a standard cargo protector to help keep items secure. The shelf and cargo floor are specifically designed so that items don't fall out of the cargo area when the liftgate is opened, even when the Expedition is parked on a hill.

Ford engineers made the 3.5L EcoBoost® the standard engine because they knew how important performance is in this full-size vehicle. Ride comfort too. That's why they gave Expedition an independent rear suspension. Ride quality and control are enhanced even further with a 10-speed automatic transmission and available Continuously Controlled Damping.
3.5L EcoBoost® Engine
EcoBoost® technology powers performance in the Ford Expedition. Experience surprising responsiveness in the most powerful Expedition engine yet, compliments of two technologies: direct injection helping maximize power from every drop of fuel, and twin air-to-air intercooled turbochargers delivering a surge of on-demand power.
Independent Rear Suspension
When designing the Expedition, Ford engineers departed from the conventional solid rear axle in favor of the independent multilink rear suspension (IRS). They chose the IRS because it lets each rear wheel handle road conditions on its own terms, enhancing ride quality and control. The IRS design also allows for increased leg- and head room, a convenient fold-flat third-row bench seat and low load-floor height.
Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD)
Expedition offers Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD). A suite of electronic sensors continuously monitors 46 unique motions. The damping system responds in milliseconds to help keep you confidently in control. Choose from three settings - Comfort, Normal or Sport - for the performance feel you prefer. CCD is standard on Expedition Platinum and optional on Limited.
10-Speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Tow/Haul Mode
A 10-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode distributes power to help ensure maximum traction and a great ride on any road. It offers enhanced stability when towing or hauling heavy loads.

If you need to tow a large trailer, the standard 3.5L EcoBoost® engine delivers 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, giving the Expedition a best-in-class 9,300-lb. towing capacity when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. Expedition features trailer sway control working in conjunction with AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™). Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with trailer coverage helps watch your blind spots not only around the vehicle, but around the trailer, as well. Available Pro Trailer Backup Assist helps you steer a trailer in reverse with just the turn of a knob. And the limited-slip differential is comforting in slippery conditions. It all adds up to towing made easier.
FX4 Off-Road Package
FX4 has all the essentials for your next off-road adventure. Special features include an electronic limited-slip differential, premium off-road shocks, two-speed automatic 4WD with neutral towing capability, a heavy-duty radiator, underbody fuel tank protection, skid plates, 18-inch magnetic metallic-painted cast-aluminum wheels, all-terrain OWL tires, platform chrome-plated running boards, front- and second-row floor liners and an FX4 badge.
Pro Trailer Backup Assist
Whether you're a towing novice or a seasoned veteran, available Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob. Simply rotate the knob left or right in the direction you want the trailer to go. It can help you steer the trailer in reverse more precisely and with greater confidence.
Cargo Capacity
Ford Expedition offers exceptional cargo space when you need it. A full 104.6 cu. ft behind the first row of seating, 63.6 cu. ft. behind the second row and 20.9 cu. ft behind the third. Expedition MAX, at about a foot longer, adds another 16.9 cu. ft. totaling up to a maximum 121.5 cu. ft. And with 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, you can take whatever you're carrying just about anywhere.
Hill Start Assist/Descent Control
Hill Start Assist/Descent Control helps keep your vehicle's power and capability under control, particularly when you're towing. When you're stopped on an incline, standard Hill Start Assist automatically works with the anti-lock brakes to hold the vehicle in place for up to two seconds while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. On 4-WD models, you can activate standard Hill Descent Control™ so the braking system automatically engages as needed to help keep you in control while descending a steep grade.
360-Degree Camera
The available 360-degree camera with split-view display uses four cameras (one in the grille, tailgate, and under each of the sideview mirrors) enabling you to see all sides of the vehicle on the eight-inch color LCD screen. It's especially useful when maneuvering in tight spaces or on trails. The camera system includes front and rear washers to maximize visibility.
