MODEL OVERVIEW

Tough

MEANING OF TOUGH REDEFINED. FOREVER.
Yesterday's meaning of tough — heavy strength — has changed forever with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy replacing conventional steel in the cab/bed of the stronger yet lighter Ford F-150. Not aluminum in the household sense, but heat-treated and hardened aluminum alloy — the same high-grade 6000-series used in big military and industrial applications. This bold concept took shape with advanced computer-aided design technology, followed by F-150 prototypes subjected to over 10 million cumulative miles of torturous testing on Ford proving grounds and in real world jobs.

HIGH-STRENGTH, MILITARY-GRADE, ALUMINUM-ALLOY BODY
Doing something the right way often results in multiple benefits. Case in point: going from steel to high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloys in the F-150 cab and bed. Hardening aluminum alloy through heat-treating produces greater strength. Working with aluminum alloy also allows engineers to increase gauge (or thickness) where needed to achieve extra strength without increasing weight. The stronger F-150 weighs up to 700 lbs. less than the previous generation, resulting in greater power-to-weight ratio, enhanced fuel efficiency, plus higher maximum payload and tow ratings that are best in class. Yet another benefit — resistance to dents and corrosion.

FULLY BOXED HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL FRAME
The fully boxed frame is made of more high-strength steel (up to 78 percent at 70,000 psi) and larger cross sections than the previous frame. And while stronger and more rigid, this frame is also lighter by up to 60 lbs. because many of the components are fabricated using the state-of-the-art roll-forming process that minimizes weight.

F-150 OFF-ROAD
Shifting into four-wheel drive is as easy as turning a dial with the electronic shift-on-thefly (ESOF) system. ESOF lets you choose two 4-wheel-drive modes (4x4 low or high) as well as 2-wheel drive. LARIAT, King Ranch®, Limited, Platinum and Raptor models also include automatic 4WD mode. The FX4 Off-Road Package includes electronic-locking rear differential (locks the rear axle completely for enhanced traction at both wheels), Hill Descent Control , off-road tuned shock absorbers, skid plates, and "FX4 Off-Road" decal. Plus, the available 360-degree camera with split-view display is helpful when you're maneuvering in tight spaces and on off-road trails.

F-150 RAPTOR
The F-150 Raptor can take on the most unforgiving terrain a truck can set its tires on. Today's leaner, meaner Raptor is nearly 500 lbs. lighter than the previous generation with its high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body plus high-strength steel frame. Power is supplied by a twin-turbo, dual-direct and port fuel-injected 3.5L EcoBoost® with 10-speed automatic delivering a massive 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. Extreme off-road capability comes courtesy of features such as the Torque-On-Demand transfer case and FOX Racing Shox. For a conventional 4-wheeler, off-roading like this is off limits. For the Raptor, it's a routine day of play.

Power

ENGINE LINEUP MORE POTENT THAN EVER. DIESEL COMING.
Ford engineers work to make the F-150 pickup better every year and push the competition to try to keep up on the performance front. There are five engine choices, naturally aspirated and turbocharged, including the awesome high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® in the Baja-bred F-150 Raptor. Auto Start-Stop Technology is on all engines. And more engines feature the segment-exclusive* 10-speed automatic. Even bigger F-150 news coming down the road is the new 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel (available spring 2018) built for severe-duty service, performance and durability.

10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
F-150 EcoBoost® and V8 engines deliver their power through an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission. Compared with the 6-speed gearbox it replaced, the 10-speed delivers improved overall performance, with enhanced acceleration at the low and mid ranges of the power band. Features include optimized wide-span gear spacing coupled with drag-reduction actions plus three overdrive gears. What's more, you can choose from selectable modes: Normal, Tow-Haul, Snow-Wet, EcoSelect, and Sport.

AUTO START-STOP TECHNOLOGY
Auto Start-Stop Technology is a feature on all F-150 engines. When you come to a stop, the engine shuts off to save fuel and restarts immediately when the brake is released. Designed smart for truck applications, Auto Start-Stop deactivates when it wouldn't be needed such as when you're towing a trailer or running in 4-wheel drive.

Capability

LOTS OF WAYS TO MAXIMIZE TOP-RATED F-150 CAPABILITY.
Ford F-150 delivers best-in-class payload and tow ratings. And the F-150 can be equipped to smooth out the toughest of workdays and make every job as productive as possible. Choose from the many features available on no other half-ton pickup — among them the innovative available Pro Trailer Backup Assist, integrated tailgate step and remote tailgate release, as well as deployable box side steps. It's no wonder, when it comes to capability, the competition is always in a scramble to follow the leader, the Ford F-150.

BEST-IN-CLASS TOWING
The F-150 can tow more than ever before — and more than any other pickup in its class* — with the available 3.5L EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6. This second-generation EcoBoost® is rated at 375 horsepower and best-in-class* 470 lb.-ft. of torque, beating out all gas and diesel competitors.

BEST-IN-CLASS PAYLOAD
Reducing weight is an effective way to increase payload. And that's what resulted from cutting the weight of the F-150 body with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy. Greater strength with less weight helps achieve a best-in-class* payload rating in F-150 models powered by the legendary Ford 5.0L V8. The 5.0L now features a direct-injection system designed to extract as much power as possible from every drop of fuel, and generates power ratings of 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

CLASS-EXCLUSIVE PRO TRAILER BACKUP ASSIST
Backing up a trailer involves navigating two vehicles at the same time - the truck going one way and the trailer going in the opposite direction. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned pro at this often tricky maneuver, the available class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes it as easy as turning a knob. Simply rotate the knob left or right in the direction you want the trailer to go. F-150 is the first pickup truck to offer this breakthrough feature.

CLASS-DEFINING PICKUP BOX
F-150 offers not only best-in-class payload,* but also a pickup bed that can be equipped to make work easier and maximize productivity. Available features include • Flexible, configurable Box Link system • LED box lights • Stowable loading ramps • Classexclusive* integrated tailgate step with lift assist • Class-exclusive remote tailgate release (lock or unlock and lower the tailgate) • Class-exclusive deployable box side steps available on all cab configurations, including the SuperCrew® with 5.5-ft. pickup box • Heavy-Duty Payload Package.

RAPTOR EXTREME ALL-TERRAIN HANDLING
Amazingly, with stock performance and handling components, the F-150 Raptor completed the 49th SCORE Baja 1000 with just basic required racing modifications. The high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® puts out a massive 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. Awesome handling comes courtesy of the factory-equipped Torque-On-Demand transfer case, BFGoodrich all-terrain KO2 tires, FOX Racing Shox with 13" front/14" rear travel, available 4.10 front axle with TORSEN differential, and giant front skid plate. Plus the Terrain Management System with six driver-selectable modes (Normal, Baja, Rock Crawl, Sport, Mud-Sand, Wet-Snow) and Hill Descent Control

IN-CAB STORAGE AND FULLY FLAT LOAD FLOOR
The F-150 provides lots of places to store the assortment of things you carry inside the cab. You'll also find plenty of space to stow items in the door-trim panel bins and under-seat rear storage area — there's even space for a laptop inside the available flow-through center console. It also features a class-exclusive fully flat rear load floor with under-seat storage (SuperCab and SuperCrew® ).

LED LIGHTING
LED lighting is virtually everywhere you need it. Available features include • Class-exclusive* quad-beam LED headlamps - provide bright, efficient and long-lasting illumination • Class-exclusive* LED side-mirror spotlights - illuminate any task at hand from just about any angle after the sun has set • LED box lighting - helps you work at night and lets you see under a tonneau cover • LED trailer hitch light on tailgate handle - included with the trailer tow packages and helps with hitching up to a trailer at night.

Smart

WORKING HARDER TO HELP YOU WORK SMARTER.
Tough jobs require trucks that can take all the dirt and heat thrown at them — and then some. But while your truck must be built to work hard, that doesn't mean you have to work hard. That's why Ford engineers have gone to great lengths to make the current generation of the F-150 so easy to operate, whether you're inside the cab or working out of the pickup bed. F-Series offers a broad range of features from the available integrated tailgate step and deployable box steps to the available 360-degree camera and SYNC® 3 with SYNC® Connect. So you can work smarter, more productively.

8" LCD PRODUCTIVITY SCREEN
The available 8" LCD productivity screen provides useful information from fuel economy to towing data, all right in front of you on the instrument cluster. You can create a customized home screen using six menu options—My View, Trip/Fuel, Truck Info, Towing, Off-Road and Settings — and access your most frequently used screens in one place. Standard in F-150 LARIAT, King Ranch® , Platinum and Limited.

CLASS-EXCLUSIVE REMOTE TAILGATE RELEASE
The class-exclusive available remote tailgate release lets you lock or unlock the tailgate with the key fob or the inside door switch. Release the tailgate with the key fob, too. It's among the features that redefine the work space of the F-150 pickup bed, such as the class-exclusive* integrated tailgate step with lift assist and deployable box steps.

360-DEGREE CAMERA WITH SPLIT-VIEW DISPLAY
The available 360-degree camera with split-view display uses four cameras - one in the grille, tailgate, and under each of the sideview mirrors. The system enables you to see all sides of the truck by stitching the images together and displaying them on a center stack screen. It's useful when maneuvering in tight spaces and on trails. Also helpful is the included hitch assist feature that provides a dynamic sight line to help direct your hitch ball to the trailer receiver.

BLIS® WITH CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT AND TRAILER COVERAGE
Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) signals you in the outside mirror when a vehicle is detected in a blind spot — and provides coverage for the truck you're driving as well as the trailer you're towing. The cross-traffic alert feature can detect a vehicle passing behind when you're slowly backing out of a driveway or parking place.

PRE-COLLISION ASSIST AND LANE-KEEPING SYSTEM
F-150 offers technologies to assist you in unexpected situations: (1) Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection scans the road ahead. If the sensors detect a potential collision, you get a visual warning on the windshield as well as an audible alert. And the brakes precharge and increase sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you brake. If corrective action is not taken and a collision becomes imminent, the brakes can apply automatically. (2) Lane-Keeping System vibrates the steering wheel or gives torque sensations, or both if you choose, when you drift too close to a lane marker.
