Exclusive SHO Grille
The distinctive grille on SHO models adds unmistakable edge. Bold black mesh is surrounded by sleek chrome, for an effect that’s dynamic yet sophisticated.
Unique Spoiler
The Taurus offers a distinctive rear spoiler on the high-powered SHO model. While undeniably bold-looking, its aerodynamic properties also help contribute to efficiency and stability. Also available on SEL and Limited.
Dual Chrome Exhaust Tips
A chrome-tipped dual exhaust system adds dynamic appeal to the sculpted rear lines of the Taurus SE, SEL and Limited models. SHO is engineered with a dual exhaust system designed to reduce back pressure and enhance horsepower.
Wheel Lineup
An array of wheel designs complement the sporty look of Taurus. 20-inch 15-spoke low-gloss Ebony Black-painted machined aluminum wheels are optional on Taurus SEL and SHO. 20-inch polished aluminum wheels are optional on Taurus Limited, and 20-inch Ebony Black-painted machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets come standard on SHO (shown).
HID Headlamps
Exclusive to the Taurus SHO are high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps that give Taurus an eye-catching look. In the automatic position, the headlamps automatically turn on in low-light situations, or when the wipers are activated.
LED Taillamps
Standard on all Taurus models, full LED taillamps not only are sharp in appearance, but also illuminate faster, are brighter than conventional incandescent bulbs and consume less energy.
Power
A powerful engine lineup.
Taurus brings an engine lineup designed for the driving enthusiast. The standard 3.5L Ti-VCT engine delivers an impressive 288 horsepower. A six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission is standard on all Taurus models and lets you override automatic operation and enjoy the energetic feel of a manual with control over gear selection. For an extra dose of power, opt for the 365-horsepower 3.5L EcoBoost® engine, standard on SHO.
All-Wheel Drive
Intelligent AWD sensors balance torque between the front and rear wheels to enhance handling and maximize traction, typically before wheelslip can even occur. Standard on SHO and available on SEL and Limited.
3.5L EcoBoost® V6 Engine
Taurus SHO is equipped with a standard 3.5L EcoBoost® engine. It combines two different technologies – turbocharging and direct injection. It generates 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque across a wide 1,500-5,000 rpm range.
3.5L V6 Engine
The standard 3.5L engine delivers both a robust 288 horsepower and an EPA-estimated rating of 27 hwy mpg. Twin independent variable camshaft timing controls when the valves open and close to enhance overall performance, while also enabling variable valve overlap for improved fuel economy.
SHO Sport-Tuned Suspension
Taurus SHO features a suspension with unique sport-tuned shock absorbers, springs, stabilizer bars and strut mount bushings. These components are engineered to deliver impressive road holding, cornering agility and steering responsiveness. The rear suspension increases suspension travel for enhanced dynamic control and ride quality.
6-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission Sport Mode with Shifter Button Activation
Taurus SE, SEL and Limited models feature the 6-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Shifter Button Activation. This feature lets you override automatic operation and enjoy the performance feel of a manual with control over gear selection. Taurus SHO has race-inspired, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for changing gears easily and quickly.
Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control
Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control, standard on all Taurus models, are two components of AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control (ESC). Torque Vectoring Control uses the braking system to imitate the effect of a torque vectoring differential. In particular, when accelerating through corners, it applies braking to the front inside wheel, so more of the engine torque goes to the outside wheel, which has more grip. Curve Control will slow your vehicle when it senses that you’re going too fast into a particular curve. Employing throttle reduction and four-wheel braking intervention, it’s always active in helping you maintain control.
Electric Power-Assisted Steering
EPAS is powered by an electric motor instead of a hydraulic pump that draws power from the engine. What’s more, since it is speed-sensitive, EPAS can help correct for road irregularities and improve steering feel. EPAS also features pull-drift compensation, technology that helps you offset vehicle pulling or drifting that can occur in crosswinds or on uneven roads.

Evolution in driving intelligence.
The technology features in Taurus can enhance your driving experience. Taurus offers available SYNC® 3 – our next generation of voice-activated technology. Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert warns you when a vehicle is in your blind spot or is approaching when you’re slowly backing out of a parking space. Available adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with brake support automatically slows your vehicle when traffic is detected ahead. There’s even available active park assist, which can help make parallel parking easy.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Available Adaptive Cruise Control is a step beyond conventional cruise control. When its sensors detect traffic slowing, your vehicle also slows down. After traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. Available Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support will alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A red warning bar flashes on the windshield. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will pre-charge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness.
Lane-Keeping System
The available Lane-Keeping System includes both the lane-keeping alert and the lane-keeping aid. The system can operate during the day or night. Lane-keeping alert warns you through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which mimic driving over a rumble strip, should the system detect an unintentional lane departure. Lane-keeping aid actively applies steering torque, which alerts you to direct your vehicle back into the target lane should the system detect an unintended lane departure. The system is available on Taurus Limited and SHO models.
BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert
The available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar in the rear quarter panels to detect a vehicle entering your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the sideview mirror. Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it provides an audible warning, a visual display in either sideview mirror and a signal in the message center. BLIS® technology is standard on Taurus Limited and SHO models.
Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start
Starting Taurus is a breeze, thanks to available Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start. With the key fob in your pocket or handbag, simply open the driver’s door — no key is needed. Once inside, press the brake pedal and then the start button, shift into gear and go. Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start is standard on Taurus Limited and SHO and available on Taurus SEL.

With available navigation with SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link, SYNC® 3 features easy destination entry. It’s easy to locate that hard-to-find restaurant, the nearest ATM or a highly rated coffee shop. Plus, responsive, adaptive search results are based upon your preferences. With SYNC® 3, you can easily get to your destination with audible turn-by-turn navigation, along with continuously updated directions, weather information, traffic delays, alternate route suggestions and more.

SHO Interior
Features include your choice of available Charcoal Black leather-trimmed seats or leather-trimmed seats with Mayan Gray Miko inserts (both with unique SHO embroidery), aluminum pedals, woven aluminum appliqué, floor mats with SHO embroidery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Unique SHO Seats
The choice is yours in the power-inspired Taurus SHO. Opt for leather-trimmed seats in Charcoal Black (shown) or Mayan Gray Miko inserts. Both feature an embroidered SHO logo on the front seats, and provide added comfort with an extended thigh-support cushion and bolster contour. Soy-based seat cushions, seat backs and four-way adjustable (up/down/tilt) head restraints are supportive and comfortable, as well as environmentally friendly.

Rear passengers don’t have to take a back seat when it comes to comfort, with second-row heated seats for rear outboard seat passengers. Standard on Taurus Limited and Taurus SHO.

Ambient Lighting
Standard on Limited and SHO, ambient lighting features light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that illuminate the front and rear footwells, door handles and two front cupholders. Scroll through and select the color you want – Ice Blue®, orange, soft blue, red, green, blue or purple. There are also five dimmer levels to adjust the intensity of the light.
Dual-Zone Climate Control
Customize your ideal temperature setting, no matter the season. Dual-zone climate control lets you and your front-seat passenger choose individual temperature levels, ensuring a relaxing ride for all.
